The beauty of a fragrance is that it speaks to your heart. Not only do you inhale a smell but a feeling along with it. We all have our choices regarding the notes we love and though initially we choose a perfume based on their top notes, what makes us fall in love with them is their base notes. I am crazy about perfumes and I have bought many international expensive ones too. Brands like Gucci, Victoria's Secret, Calvin Klein, D & G, Guess, Escada, Dior have all been my favorite and I still possess some of them. It is not like I use only imported perfumes I have a collection of attars and Indian perfume brands too. So here trying to be Vocal About Local I am bringing to you the best Indian Perfume Brands available and some particular fragrances that I personally have loved.
Majorly being a luxury skincare and body care brand, their perfumes collection is very limited and at the same time very basic. They do not have a mix of a bunch of notes and the base note is floral. My favorite is the Kashmiri Nargis, which came my way as a free sample. This particular fragrance has since been on the list of my top floral fragrances. It is also available as a body mist.
2. Titan Skinn
Tata has always been the epitome of quality products. Titan Skinn has come up with a wide range of perfumes for both men and women. Skinn provides perfumes and deodorants for men including strong and mild fragrances. The collection of perfumes, deodorants, and body mists for women by Skinn is extremely varied.
3. Bombay Perfumery
When we talk about the best Indian perfume brands, the Bombay Perfumery has to have a place on the list. The most famous of its products being Calicut and Madurai talkies, Bombay perfumery has made a good name in the Indian Market.
4. Fogg
A very prominent name in the younger generation, Fogg became trending with its tagline 'Fogg chal raha hai' in the past few years. Fogg is a brand of Vini Cosmetics Pvt Ltd, owned by Darshan Patel. Most popular to last longer and the deodorants not containing just gas, Fogg has become a leading Indian Brand overcoming Axe. It provides perfumes for men and women.
5. Engage
ITC launched its own series of perfumes and deodorants under the name Engage in the year 2013. It has a wide range of products from body mists, deodorants, and perfumes. Engage also comes in a pocket perfume packaging to easily carry around. Engage also has a series of luxury perfumes named Engage L'amante , bringing to you the most eminent fragrances from France.
6. Essenza Di Wills
A series of luxury perfumes launched by ITC offers fine fragrances for both men and women. Though it is more known for its male fragrances Essenza does offer perfume for women too. Along with perfumes Essenza offers deodorants, and soaps too. Essenza also offers a unisex series named Inizio
Other than all these brands there are many local brands that have not found their name yet. Kannauj is the perfume city of India. There are best quality Ittar/Attar manufactured in Kannauj which are world-famous. Ittar is basically the purest form of a Fragrance and not diluted with alcohol. It is an oil-based fragrance which in fact is what has been used in India since ancient times. The city once held 400 perfumeries that manufactured Ittar but the number has fallen close to 100 now and is falling every year as the market for international perfume grows. Let us not take deprive our future generation of the heritage of our country. Switch back to local and if not always some times switch back to Ittar.

There’s a company called Indian Naturals that’s been catering to all fragrance needs. Their vast library has solutions for scent marketing, candle scents and Best of all, alcohol free perfume oils. They do small batch amazing perfumes, unlike any Indian fragrance. Very different from attars. Extremely long lasting, even in the Indian heat.
