'Tooter'- The Swadeshi Twitter | Vocal About Local|

Taking a step forward towards Atmanirbhar Bharat, Tooter is a newly launched microblogging site. Though the site is active since July it has recently gained popularity. The makers put forward a very valid and strong point that India needs to have its own social networking site or else we end up being digital colonies of the American brands.

Tooter is highly inspired by Twitter.  You can create toots, add media, add polls, add links, and post them with hashtags and tags. The limit to the number of characters in a toot is 500 which I believe is perfect and twitter with 280 characters seemed a little short.

From the home page, you can choose to reply to a toot, boost a toot, mark star, save, share copy link, or pin a toot too. In the search panel, you can search for users, posts, or specific hashtags. Build up your network by following and getting followed by other people. 

The logo of the app is a blue conch or 'Shankh' that has a very significant place in the Indian culture. It is said that the Shankh helps you focus and centres you from any distraction. So, welcome aboard and toot your conch. Bring India On Tooter and help it gain popularity so that one day it can become a regular platform of interaction. The app is currently on the Android platform only but we are hoping it will be available soon on iOS too. Along with that DM feature will also soon be available on the platform.

How To Sign Up On Tooter?

Download the app from play store and signup with an email id and password. You can use either a Gmail or a yahoo id for now. It is really simple to signup. 

You can add a Display picture and a cover photo. Add a bio to give a short description of you and get going on the journey.
